St John WA Nurses and Paramedics contracted to Rio Tinto

After a thorough tender process, Rio Tinto awarded St John WA the contract to provide nursing and paramedic staff to its Pilbara operations due to its high level of capability and expertise.

The Industry Medical Services (IMS) team will assign over 60 full-time employees (FTEs) to Rio for the next three years.

St John WA Group CEO Kevin Brown welcomed Rio Tinto’s decision to award the tender for nursing and paramedical services to St John.

“We believe our expertise and capabilities will make a significant contribution to the Emergency Services Team at Rio Tinto,” Mr Brown said.

St John WA Head of Group Business Development & Industry Medical Services, Glenn Carmody, said that Rio Tinto was seeking a reputable supplier to provide Nursing / Paramedic staff to operations in Western Australia and after a thorough tender process aligns two great organisations with similar goals.

“We are looking forward to forging a long-term relationship with Rio Tinto in the delivery of nursing and paramedical staff across all sites in the Pilbara. This will also enable St John to deliver value added community outcomes within the Pilbara communities,” Mr Carmody said.
